PyreHaven expands with our Network 3.0 update

EmberClash moves to Minecraft 26.3, with a redesigned website and Discord account connections.

This is a huge step for who we are. As PyreHaven turns 1 year old this month, we want to show exactly what we do and why. We have officially adopted the unofficial title of indie game studio and completely revamped the site to show it. Since we started making mods and releasing them outside the context of the server, we wanted to show off everything we do, so our new site has the main Server page and the new Mods page showcasing the mods we make. Joining instructions, rules and EmberClash info now all sit together under Server, each of our released mods has its own page in Mods, and we’ll keep all our updates together here in News. The site style has also been completely revamped.

This update also brings the server up to speed, with EmberClash now running on Minecraft 26.3. Mojang’s Wilderness Bound update adds Dappled Forests, poplar trees and abandoned camps, but you’ll only find them in newly generated terrain, not chunks you’ve already explored. You can find Mojang’s official changelog for that here. On our side, the server mods have been reworked to bring more optimization and continuity to support all kinds of players. We’ve kept Mojang’s changes separate from ours in our changelog so you can see where each change comes from, and you can browse the server mods yourself. Now you can play EmberClash on the latest version of Minecraft, and all our mods have been updated. We’ve also laid the groundwork for more game modes, so stay tuned.

You can now link your Discord account through Account connections. Your account details are on Profile, and your passkeys and sign-in settings are on Security.

But the biggest part of this update is how we want to move forward regarding AI. We were falling into “AI slop,” so to combat this, we have created a proper dev process and rewritten everything from scratch in an anti-slop way. Humans now play a much bigger role in the structure and formatting of our codebases (our GitHub is here if you want to see). The mods and site have all been revamped with features that have been thoroughly thought out and are not hacky, designed in a clean way to avoid optimization issues and allow us to update them more easily. We have also improved P.H.R.E.D. by adding more human control, ensuring every decision that ever reaches players was made by a human. We want to be more transparent about how AI is used (full statement here).

Whether you are a new or returning player, we want to welcome you to PyreHaven in this new chapter of balancing human control with AI speed and utility. Thanks for reading, more updates coming soon. See you soon in the chaotic world (with a safe community)!
